I do my sound clips a little different than most other manufacturers. I let my customers do them.
The clip is located at the end of the artist's comment along with his setup and any notes that the player may have.
I hope you enjoy these clips as much as I do. Please note, not all comments have clips that go with them
so the ones that do are positioned at the top of the list.

We used our main practice amp and and my own personal guitar, sounds great / I put it in mine like tons of other stuff we test because I know what my guitar sounds like .... really dig the less bass needed on the amp and you can actually turn up the treble without sounding thin and brittle / good chord articulation with high gain settings / nice clean tone with the volume rolled down...etc (could go on for days). "It (the Viper) killed the Evo 2. Kicked it off my guitar totally. It straddles the line between vintage and modern tones, kind of PAF-ish but has great bass, tight too. There's this slight fizz (for lack of a better word) which gives this Viper a raw character. About the mids...very crisp and clear for rhythm, I would think its more articulate than the Evo 2. Note clarity and separation is very good. Very very good. It cleans up quite well, I would say the Evo 2 cleans up in a smoother way but no biggie to me. Harmonics? It sure can scream! The Evo 2 screams more easily by a hair but this Viper sounds more... organic, warmer than the Evo 2. Split, it has a more bold tone and interprets your picking dynamics well. Strangely, though the Viper's DC resistance is measured at 13.5k, its magnet pull (I used an allen key to compare) is much weaker than the Evo 2... very cool. Means more sustain. Overall, the main thing that makes the Viper rock so HARD... is the raw character. It just makes you wanna rip out with some old school riffing, if you get what I mean... Its a killer pup to me. What I want... bite, raw-ness and attitude.."

"The Viper.... it is AMAZING!! I paired it with a JB Jr in the neck, and seriously, I hate the JB Jr so much now. It sounds so dead compared to the Viper. The magic of this pickup is in it's decay. Every note I play growls, like as though it is alive! The JB Jr in comparison, although sounding more mellow, is very dead sounding, like a synth. I'm going to get a neck pickup from you next month to replace it".

"Stan, The Hellion took the place of the stock V8 pup on my RG1570, and rightly so. After just an hour with the Hellion, I am utterly convinced that the Hellion is in a class of its own, it simply does not tolerate any comparison to any other pickups I have heard. First thing I noticed was that it fedback really easily. It packs a wealth of harmonics. Cleans were stunning and when used with a Uber-Metal, it brings the house down with the toweringly heavy wallop that it packs. You really have to experience it for yourself. Hot J Bass Set

"I have had this bass for 35 years. It is a great sounding bass. Everything on the bass is original...until I replaced the pickups. Your Hot J pickups are an improvement on the original pickups. They are more balanced from the low string to the high string and from the bottom of the neck to the top of the neck. Changing did not change the character of the bass...it still is a warm and distinctive sounding bass....but the bass now has a few less quirks and I am very happy with the new pickups. "There is a quality that Fender pickups have that no other pickups do, Midrange punch. Yours (Hot J's) however have all that plus a nice bright top with a tight low end. Everything is there...Your pickups are the ultimate compromise. First off, if you want a nice modern grindy sound, its there! But they still have a vintage quality to them. Somehow you have managed to get the best of both worlds here. And, yes just like the name, they are HOT! Output exceeds the Seymour Duncan Hot-J's which are honky sounding. They are silent! no hum. I know, i'm pretty good at shielding, but for single coils these things are completely canceling at 100%, NICE JOB!"

"My Marcus Miller Jazz is a bit zingy in the top end without any sort of passive treble rolloff. So some hot pickups, in theory, should take some zing off the top and tame the beast a bit. I discussed the possibility with Stan of possibly overwinding and he basically replied saying that these are quite hot already and should do what I'm looking for. I'm glad I listened to his advice. Installation was a breeze, just needed a screwdriver and a soldering iron (Stan uses vintage style cloth covered wire which can be pushed up and doesn't need to be stripped like a plastic coated wire) and took about 10 minutes. I screwed the pickups down and unfortunately stripped five of the eight screws that came with the pickups. Luckily I had spares because I was way too excited to wait for some new screws to arrive. Once I got everything settled down into place, I plugged in and was blown away. Stan's Hot J set is tonally very rich across the frequency spectrum, with a hint of treble rolled off to achieve aural bliss. The fundamentals were deep and throaty, and the overtones were rich and sweet. I took the bass from a burpy walking line to a smooth, sweet improvised solo at the 12th fret by changing nothing but my right hand attack and the pickups were right along with me showing no weaknesses. These pickups tamed the beast and educated it a bit too."

"The split J is dead quiet even soloed. Finally, a great sounding J without the hum. Last night at a practice I actually used just the J, something I tended not to do much in the past. Extremely balanced from string to string and a nice throaty/vintagy J sound. The volume/balance between the J and P are equal, another first for me, I was always having to turn up the J when in a band setting. The P is much more authoritative in the lows, punchy and articulate, rather than blurred. Besides Stan's help and the quality of product I am thrilled with these pickups."

"Has plenty of kick, but it clears/cleans up really well with the volume knob. I play thru an old black faced Fender and use only one dirt box on occasion. Tried many things, but always wind up back at simplicities doorstep. This p/u is well balanced as to tone. A slight backing off of the volume and there's ample clarity for any playing style imaginable. Kick it on full volume and it sings. Great sustain. Clarity and sustain.......I say that's a good p/u. I had dealt Stan before on parts and he's a super helpful guy. Thanks Stan!"
